<br /> <br />LA515-1-859180.v2 8 <br /> <br />Specifications of the Tablyn and Pebble Courts <br /> <br />1.0 SCOPE OF WORK. The Scope of Work is divided into four sections: (A) Court <br />Removal; (B) Court Installation and Accessories; (C) Court Surface/Lining for tennis and <br />pickle ball; and (D) Electrical. All specified construction and materials must be furnished <br />by the Contractor unless otherwise indicated. It should be noted that the City of Lake Elmo <br />is an instrumentality of the State of Minnesota and is subject to the general state tax <br />provisions although the City is exempt from the state sales tax for certain purchases. All <br />construction and materials must be new and be the manufacturer’s most current model. All <br />construction and materials must be from manufacturers that have been regularly engaged <br />in the production of similar systems and components for a minimum of five years. The <br />Contractor must provide all services necessary to engineer, procure, install, test and certify <br />the “Courts” described below in conformance with the manufacturer’s specifications and <br />applicable industry standards. <br /> <br />A. Court Removal. (Demolition/Excavating/Fencing) The Contractor will be <br />responsible for removal of all asphalt within the tennis court areas from both the <br />Tablyn and Pebble Park tennis courts. This includes: <br />a. Removal of all asphalt surface, including any asphalt around the fencing <br />area which borders the playing area. <br />b. Removal and disposal of 24” of subbase material in and around the tennis <br />courts. <br />c. Removal and disposal of 24” of subbase material for a 9 x 45 foot walking <br />path from the parking lot to court entrance gate at Pebble Park. <br />d. Removal of existing tennis net posts and footings. <br /> <br />(Contractors should consider the removal and reinstalling of any or all fencing <br />needed to construct the project to the designed specifications). <br /> <br />B. Court Installation and Accessories. (Granular Materials /Aggregates <br />Bituminous Pavement/Athletic Equipment) The Contractor will be responsible <br />for installing all new material to construct a base, playing surface and provide the <br />needed accessories. The court at Tablyn Park should consist of one tennis court and <br />four pickle ball courts, while the court at Pebble Park should consist of one tennis <br />court and six pickle ball courts. This includes: <br />a. Furnish and Installation of sub layer, 24”of compacted granular material <br />MN/DOT 3149. <br />b. Furnish and Installation of 6” of compacted aggregate base MN/DOT 3138. <br />c. Furnish and Install a minimum of 3” (compacted) asphalt surface material <br />MN/DOT 2360 - SPNWB230C (Base) and SPNWB240C (Wear Course) <br />(see EXHIBIT B). <br />d. The courts shall be sloped .5%-1% from the South to North to allow for <br />drainage. <br />e. Compaction must begin as soon as required and continue until roller marks <br />have disappeared. <br />f. Smoothness must meet the requirements of no greater than 1/8” in 10 feet.
