STAFF REPORT <br />DATE:10/7/2025 <br />Consent <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Marty Powers, Public Works Director <br />AGENDA ITEM: Sale of Excess and Retired Assets <br />REVIEWED BY: Nicole Miller <br />CORE STRATEGIES: <br />☐ Vibrant, inclusive, connected community ☐ Efficient, reliable, innovative services <br />☒ Responsive, transparent, adaptive governance ☐ Balanced Finances now and future <br />☐ Managed Growth ☐ Resilient Infrastructure <br />BACKGROUND: <br />With the acquisition of new assets, excess assets, or other assets that have reached the end of their useful <br />life, Public Works has a surplus of assets that are no longer operational or needed to conduct city services <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should the City Council authorize staff to publicly advertise and sell excess and retired city assets consistent <br />with the City’s Purchasing Policy? <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />Revenue generated by the sale of these assets will be added to the Vehicle Replacement Fund and/or the <br />General Fund. Below is a list of surplus items and parcels and the anticipated sale price. <br />Five Hunting Stands $200.00 <br />Plastic Playground boarders $200.00 <br />Generator $300.00 <br />Two Light Poles $100.00 <br />Discharge hose $ 65.00 <br />Cutting Edges $ 50.00 <br />Space Heater $150.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />“Motion to approve the sale of Excess and Retired Assets as detailed in the City’s Purchasing Policy”
