Boulevard Tree Program <br />The purpose of the program is to provide tree replacement within city rights-of-way. <br />Trees must be placed in the boulevard right-of-way in established neighborhoods. (A <br />subdivision’s two-year warranty period must be completed and closed out by the City.) <br />The boulevard tree program process: <br />1.Resident completes an online form <br />a.Selects from a list of trees <br />b.Name, Address, Phone, Email <br />c.Must agree to water the tree <br />2.HKGi with Public Works ensure that the sites do not have utility conflicts <br />3.Trees are planted once a year depending on funding. (A waitlist will be created if <br />there are not enough trees) <br />4.Trees are planted by a nursery/landscape company with HKGi monitoring the <br />program <br />5.Trees come with a watering bag that the residents are responsible for filling <br />6.HKGI completes an inspection to ensure the work is done correctly <br />FAQs <br />What does the selection process look like? Is it an open application, first-come-first- <br />served, or prioritized based on ROW conditions? After completing the online form, the <br />sites are verified to ensure that a boulevard tree could be placed along the front or <br />corner yard side of the home. It is a first-come-first-served program. <br />Can residents choose from a pre-approved list of species? What if the tree is <br />unavailable? Yes, but they will be limited to what the nursery has in stock . The <br />residents will selected a few trees in their preferred order. <br />Will the City track and document tree locations? The City uses ArcGIS Online and can <br />map the data from the online form . <br />Will pre-install training or planting guidelines be issued to ensure consistency across <br />contractors? If possible, t he City prefer s to use one nursery/contractor. Training is <br />limited. <br />How many inspections will take place? An i nitial site inspection and a n installation <br />inspection are the only planned inspections.
