Snow <br />and ice can make hydrants difficult to locate <br />and use when seconds matter. <br />Residents are encouraged to "adopt' a fire <br />hydrant near their home by clearing snow <br />and ice at least three feet around the <br />hydrant and creating a clear path to the <br />street after snowfalls.
