The vehicle will be used for daily <br />operations, maintenance activities, and response to service requests throughout the community. This <br />new addition is expected to meet the Council’s 10-year vehicle replacement cycle. The pickup will be <br />appropriately equipped to transport tools and equipment, while allowing staff to work efficiently and <br />respond promptly to routine maintenance and community needs. This purchase supports continued <br />service delivery, operational efficiency, and responsible long-term fleet management <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should the Council approve the purchase of a 2026 Ford F250 pickup truck with service body as <br />outlined in the Capital Improvement Plan? <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />This vehicle is an addition to the existing fleet of vehicles within Public Works and will be equipped to <br />serve all residences within the community. It will enhance daily operations by offering improved <br />organization and secure storage of tools and equipment, reducing retrieval time and increasing staff <br />efficiency in the field. In addition, proceeding with this purchase will support the City’s ability to <br />provide consistent and reliable water and sewer services to the community. <br />Additionally, the new vehicle will improve overall reliability, helping to minimize potential service <br />disruptions and reduce maintenance costs associated with aging equipment. Overall, this investment <br />strengthens employee safety, operational readiness, and the City’s capacity to respond effectively to <br />both routine maintenance needs and emergency repairs.
