LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> NOVEMBER, 2012 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br />A concern was mentioned regarding the noise. And removal of trees <br />MOTION: Council Member Pearson moved to approve the CUP Council Member Park seconded the <br />motion. MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />AS expressed her concerns about forcing the replacement of trees when future development may <br />require repeated removal. Mayor felt it was appropriate and relies on staff recommendation. Park <br />suggested that this property may retain the concerned trees for 15-20 years. AS noted the difference <br />between traffic noise and kids playing. <br /> <br />ITEM 9: Library Board Appointments Dean gave overview of library bd nomination history. Explained that the bd may want to expand to seven member bd. He explained the appointment recommendations. Mayor suggested steve delapp and sara linder to 3yr and wait for board meets and decides whether to expand <br />MOTION: Council Member mayor moved to APPROVE RESOLUTION 2012-53. Council Member Park <br />seconded the motion. MOTION PASSED 3-1. SMITH NAY <br />AS NO ISSUES WITH CANDIDATES BACK INTO WASH COUNTY SYSTEM SOONER THAN LATER. NO <br />BOARD NEEDED. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />ITEM 10: Request for Connection to 32nd Street 201 System <br /> schwartz appraoched the city to connect. Dean gave overview of site history. Jack explained system was buoilt in 1987. Seven homes on system. Feral grant. Designed to last a long time. Concerns staff has is that system life is reduced by adding additional people. County reported that system is operating at 50%. Property is in MUSA area and so someday there will be sewer. There are fall backs. Reasonable request. Explained how costs were reached at. AS inquired about new garage. Mary Schwartz explained that 27 years. Mayor noted that updated reqs will cause problems for many homes in LE.
