LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> May 17, 2016 <br /> <br /> <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />ITEM 28: June 7, 2016 City Council Meeting <br /> <br />Administrator Handt stated that there will not be a quorum available for the regularly scheduled <br />June 7, 2016 Council Meeting and offered alternate dates to meet to address time sensitive <br />matters. <br /> <br />Council agreed by consensus to meet on May 27, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. for a Closed Session and <br />9:00 a.m. for a Special Meeting and that the Parliamentarian does not need to preside. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL REPORTS <br />Mayor Pearson: Applauded first responders; attended meetings with Met Council, State <br />representatives and business representatives; attended Fire Department Appreciation Dinner, <br />Parks Commission meeting, union meeting, Lake Elmo Elementary School Fundraiser; hosted <br />Visit with the Mayor at Family Means; warned that taxpayers will be paying for the cost of <br />Clean-up Day and recognized individuals important in establishing parks in Lake Elmo. <br />Councilmember Fliflet: Attended Environmental Committee meeting, Finance Committee <br />meeting, Human Resources Committee Meeting, union meeting, Library Board meeting, Fire <br />Department Appreciation Dinner. <br />Councilmember Smith: Received calls regarding the library; thanked the Lake Elmo Jaycees <br />for their contributions, the Environmental Committee, and Rolf Larsen for his contributions to <br />the City’s weekly email newsletter. <br />Councilmember Lundgren: Attended Fire Relief meeting, Environmental Committee meeting; <br />spoke with Met Council regarding WAC and SAC fees; hosting Farmers Market vendor meeting <br />May 25th. <br />Councilmember Bloyer: Assisted residents with concerns regarding city signs and neighbor <br />issues. <br /> <br />STAFF REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />City Administrator Handt: Attended meetings with Met Council and local businesses to <br />discuss deferrals for business and residential hookups, funds for business disruption and other <br />programs. Reported on the Finance Committee meeting, Human Resources Committee and <br />Parks Commission. <br />City Clerk Johnson: Working on equipment upgrades for recording meetings and providing a <br />monitor in the lobby and thanked Cable Commission Representative Ginny Holder for her <br />assistance, summer interns start next week. <br />Finance Director Bendel: Working on bonding and audit, anticipate audit report coming soon, <br />hired a summer intern who is from the community. <br />City Attorney Sonsalla: Drafting easements; noted all five Councilmembers need to be in <br />attendance at the May 27th meetings.
