MINUTES APPROVED JANUARY 3, 2012 <br />LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 29, 2011 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />City of Lake Elmo <br />Special City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />December 29, 2011 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Johnston called the meeting to order at 9:14 a.m. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Mayor Johnston and Council Members Emmons, Park, Pearson, and Smith <br /> <br />Also Present: Interim City Administrator Dawson (arrived at 10:00 a.m.), Interim City <br />Clerk Luczak <br /> <br />AGENDA: <br /> <br />Employment of a City Administrator <br /> <br />City Council discussed the candidates. They stated that the second interviews with the <br />two candidates made their decision very difficult as they were both well-qualified and <br />had much to offer. <br /> <br />Council requested that the City Council Human Resources committee review a proposed <br />contract with Attorney Snyder, and extend an offer to Dean Zuleger with terms to be <br />defined no later than January 3, 2012. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Pearson moved to extend an offer of employment to Dean <br />Zuleger the City Administrator position. Council Member Park seconded the motion. <br />The Motion passed 5-0. <br /> <br />Council Members Park and Emmons requested a meeting with the new Administrator be <br />scheduled shortly after he begins. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:53 a.m. <br /> <br />The meeting reconvened at 10:00 a.m. <br /> <br />Library <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Dawson presented the various issues regarding the potential <br />purchase of a property available in the Old Village that could be used to house the Lake <br />Elmo Public Library. <br />
