LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 5, 2009 1 <br />MINUTES APPROVED: May 19, 2009 <br />City of Lake Elmo <br />City Council Minutes <br /> <br />May 5, 2009 <br /> <br />Mayor Johnston called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Johnston and Council Members DeLapp, Emmons (arrived at 7:04 p.m.), <br />Park and Smith <br /> <br />Also present: Interim City Administrator Dawson, Planning Director Klatt, Consulting <br />Planner Gozola, City Engineer Griffin, City Attorney Snyder, Finance Director Bouthilet <br />and City Clerk Lumby <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA: <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Park moved to approve the May 5, 2009 agenda as <br />presented. Council Member Smith seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0. <br /> <br />ORDER OF BUSINESS: <br /> <br />GROUND RULES: <br /> <br />APPROVED MINUTES: <br /> <br />The minutes of April 21, 2009, were approved by consensus. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS/INQUIRIES: <br /> <br />Susan Dunn, 11018 Upper 33rd Street N., requested placement of the City Council agenda <br />on cable channel 16 and asked the Council to consider the significant impact of the <br />AUAR on the Old village. <br /> <br />Linda Thompson-Carpenter, 8050 DeMontreville Trail Circle N., asked the City to take <br />the opportunity to plan for a pedestrian walkway when it takes over DeMontreville Trail <br />(Cty Rd 13B) from Washington County. The roadway is too narrow and not safe for <br />walking. <br /> <br />Deb Dean, 8028 Hill Trail N., stated DeMontreville Trail is heavily used by bikers, <br />walkers, and is not safe. She asked that construction of a walking path from 50th Street to <br />Highlands Trail be considered. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jack Griffin responded there has been discussion with Washington County <br />Transportation for providing possible trail options. <br />
