LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 5, 2009 2 <br />CONSENT AGENDA: <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Park moved to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. <br />with the exception of Item No. 3. Council Member Smith seconded the motion. The <br />motion passed 5-0. <br /> Approve payment of disbursements and payroll in the amount of $180,569.52 <br /> Approve hiring of seasonal employees, John Eder and Logan Weir for the 2009 <br />summer season <br /> Granting the Multiple Line Rights and Temporary Work Space Easements for <br />Northern Natural Gas Pipeline <br /> General Fund transfer of lawful gambling proceeds of $7,500 to Fall Festival <br />Fund; Resolution No. 2009-017; Proclaiming the 2nd Annual Lake Elmo Fall <br />Festival <br /> Approve Resolution No. 2009-018 in support of Sunfish Lake Park as a <br />participant in the Minnesota DNR cross-country ski GIA program and Resolution <br />No. 2009-019 in support of a Capital Improvement Project Grant application to <br />the cross-country ski GIA program for the construction on an information kiosk <br /> Authorization to purchase plants and landscape materials for the May 30th Arbor <br />Day/MnDOT Landscape Partnership Program planting project <br /> <br />Continuation of Consideration of Sign Ordinance <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Smith moved to consider the sign ordinance as an agenda <br />item at the June 9th Council Workshop. Council Member Park seconded the motion. The <br />motion passed 5-0. <br /> <br />REGULAR AGENDA: <br /> <br />Washington County Landfill Update <br /> <br />Doug Day and Jeff Lewis, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), gave an update <br />on the remediation solution at the Washington County Landfill site in Lake Elmo. A <br />public meeting will be held later this month with more detail on aspects of construction. <br /> <br />Purchase of equipment related to audio visual improvements for the Council Chambers <br /> <br />Carol Kriegler, Project Assistant, reported the City Council is being asked to authorize 1) <br />the purchase of production-related audio visual equipment, an interactive lectern, and <br />incidental materials and supplies related to the instillation of the equipment by the <br />Ramsey Washington Cable Commission technical staff and 2) the purchase of <br />presentation-related audio visual equipment to include 3 monitors. The City is eligible to <br />receive a one-time grant from the Commission in an amount not to exceed $50,000 for <br />the purchase and installation of production-related audio visual improvements for the <br />council chambers. The purchase of 3 monitors is recommended, although these items are <br />classified as presentation-related equipment and not eligible for reimbursement by the <br />grant program. The funds would come from the City’s capital equipment fund.
