LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 16, 2009 2 <br />REGULAR AGENDA: <br />Consider on-sale intoxicating liquor license for Huff’n Puff Days and proclaim August 6- <br />9th as Huff’s Puff Days <br />Huff’n Puff Chair reported on the events scheduled for the 33rd Huff’n Puff Days on <br />August 6-9, 2009 and announced the need for members from the community. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnston proclaimed August 6-9, 2009, the official celebration for 2009 and to <br />urge all citizens of our community to give full regard to the past and continuing service of <br />the Lake Elmo Jaycees. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member DeLapp moved to grant approval of the on-sale non- <br />intoxicating malt liquor license and waive the liquor fee for August 6-9, 2009 Huff’s Puff <br />Days. Council Member Smith seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0. <br /> <br />Sharon Klumpp, Springsted, City Administrator Search Firm, approval of profile and <br />schedule <br /> <br />Sharon Klumpp, Springsted, provided a position profile for the Lake Elmo city <br />administrator recruitment process and a search timetable for the Councils’ review and <br />comment. <br /> <br />The Council discussed compensation and agreed that the salary would be up to $105,000, <br />depending on qualifications, suitability and experience and asked to accelerate the <br />proposed schedule. <br /> <br />Consideration of Resolution 2009-026 in support of application to the DNR Metro <br />Greenways Grant Program for Sunfish Lake Park <br /> <br />Carol Kriegler, Project Assistant, reported the City Council is being asked to consider a <br />resolution supporting application made to the Minnesota Department of Natural <br />Resources Metro Greenways grant program for a restoration grant and conservation <br />planning grant for Sunfish Lake Park. <br /> <br />The total cost of the development of a Sunfish Lake Park natural resource management <br />plan is estimated to be $11,075.00. Staff suggested the grant request be in the amount of <br />$8,306.25. The City would provide a match of $2,768.25 for the project that would come <br />from the City’s park improvement fund. <br /> <br />Carol Kriegler noted she will make the restoration a community project and will involve <br />local volunteers in the process and a way to keep the cost of the program as low as <br />possible. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Smith moved to adopt Resolution No. 2009-026 supporting <br />application made to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Metro Greenways <br />grant program for a restoration grant and conservation planning grant for Sunfish Lake <br />Park. Mayor Johnston seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0.
