Approve 2008 Fee schedule, Ordinance no. 08-004 <br />The Finance Director will remove the phrase “per statute” in connection with the building <br />fees under the Uniform Building Code because the statute does not exist anymore. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Johnson moved approval of Ordinance no. 08-004 adopting <br />the 2008 Fee Schedule with the deletion of “per statute” associated with the building fees <br />under the Uniform Building Code. Council Member Smith seconded the motion. The <br />motion passed unanimously, <br /> <br />REGULAR AGENDA: <br /> <br />Lake Elmo Jaycees – Presentation of check from charitable gambling <br /> <br />Michelle Carlson, Lake Elmo Jaycees, presented the City Council with a check for <br />$8,500 from the Jaycees charitable gambling proceeds. <br /> <br />Appointments to existing vacancies on the Planning and Parks Commissions <br /> <br />Planning Commission <br />The City Council appointed Ben Roth, Greg Hall, Laurie McGinnis and Bob VanZandt to <br />a full voting 3-year term and appointed Brenda Anderson and Todd Ptaceck as First and <br />Second Alternates. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Johnson moved to approve Mark Deziel’s temporary leave <br />of absence from the Planning Commission, January 28th through and including April <br />14th, 2008. Council Member Smith seconded the motion. The motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Park Commission <br />The City Council appointed Susan Dunn and Mike Zeno to a full-voting 3-year term and <br />appointed Linda Wagner as an Alternate. <br /> <br />Receive an update on the options for promoting school safety for Lake Elmo Elementary <br />School and approve funds for the installation on one Dynamic Speed Monitor Display <br />sign on TH5 near Lake Elmo Avenue <br /> <br />Ted Shoenecker, Washington County Traffic Engineer gave a presentation regarding <br />school safety for Lake Elmo Elementary School. The school safety working group along <br />with the city staff recommended the approval of the Dynamic Speed Monitoring Display <br />sign installation and related costs. 3M will provide the sign at no cost to the City of Lake <br />Elmo. The City anticipates costs ($3,500) for labor and parks and the extension of <br />electric service to the sign (approx. $2,000) and the monthly electrical costs ($10 per <br />month).
