Ordinance 08-015 City Council,: 6-16-09 <br />(3) Total Sign Area Calculation <br />The total square footage of all sign surfaces shall be computed by adding <br />together the sign areas of all signs on a property. <br />Pole Sign Area <br />+ Fall Sign Area <br />+ Windom, Sim Area <br />= TOTAL SIGN AREA <br />Figure 3: Total Sign Area Measurement Example <br />(E) Construction, Maintenance and Repairs. <br />(1) The construction of all signs, unless otherwise stated herein, shall be in <br />conformance with the provisions of the Uniform Sign Code published by the <br />International Conference of Building Officials, 1997 Edition, as may be <br />amended, which is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this <br />ordinance. <br />(2) All signs and structures shall be properly maintained and shall be constructed of <br />sufficiently permanent material so that they shall not succumb to deterioration <br />from weathering. <br />(3) Any existing sign or sign structure which is rotted, unsafe, deteriorated, defaced, <br />or otherwise altered, shall be repainted, repaired, replaced, or removed if repair <br />is not feasible. Sign maintenance shall be the responsibility of the underlying <br />fee owner. <br />pg 14 <br />
