Ordinance 97-29 <br />Adopted April 21, 1998 <br />F. A meter Interface Unit (MIU) shall be securely installed on the exterior surface <br />of the wall closest to the water meter. A single RJl 1 telephone jack receptacle <br />shall also be installed on the exterior surface of the wall within eighteen (18) <br />inches of the MIU. This jack receptacle shall be wired into the existing active <br />telephone circuit. The water meter encoded register (ECR) shall be connected <br />to the MIU with three -wire conductor type as specified by the Water Utility. <br />The MIU shall be connected to the telephone jack with telephone wire and a <br />RJl 1 jack plug. Use of wire ties or clips shall secure all wires. <br />Subd. 2. Notification of Completion of Installation. <br />The Water Utility shall be notified that the meter setting is complete, at which time the <br />Water Utility will inspect and approve the installation, seal the water meter and <br />program the MIU. <br />The Lake Elmo City Council ordains that Section 600.28, Subd. 3 of the City Code is <br />hereby repealed. <br />Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be effective the day following a publication of the <br />Ordinance Summary. <br />Adoption Date.
