Mehsikomer Village Council Meeting Minutes of the February 6th meeting read and. after inserting the wage rate for Joe Brochman. of $2.00 per day as skating rink cust- odian the minutes were approved. Carried 3-0. Trustee Roy Dornield reported that the hockey goals had been i?e- moved from the lake and the whereabouts was unknown. Investigation would be made to locate them and get them into storage so that they would be available next fall. Letters which the clerk was instructed Co write were read and dis- cussed. They included letters to 1:The citizen committee on a water system; 2:Dewey Kelson on untaxed personal property; 3:VFW on plans for skating rink; 4:East Oakdale on village opinion on a new fire engine. Recreation Committee Report. Trustee Roy Dornfeld The skating rink has been closed for the season. A claim for the custodian was submitted; it would be considered along with all bills for the month. Trustee Roy Dornfeld attended the county meeting on the con- trol. of weeds. He advised that they discussed kinds of poison to be used in this work. Roy also advised that he would con- tact the county regarding the possibility of spraying weeds in the village since they had the equipment and the village didnot.- Safety and Police Committee: Trustee Robert Dennis Along with Mayor Urtel and Trustee Dornfeld attended the meeting of Last Oakdale to discuss costs. and ratio of the village cost to the township cost on. a new fire engine. Mayor iTrte7_ informed the town board that -the village would go along with new equipment on a. 3-1 ratio. This decision was based on a motion previously passed by the coucil in the June 1960 meetin. Dewey Kelson. County Assessor was on hand to answer questions raised by the village council. Elmo Specialties was discussed relative -to personal property taxes-._77 was aided that as of May 12, 1960 they didnot have equipment installed. kx Based on this the council. moved not to levy any taxes against this property. Card 3-0. Elmo Inn had submitted a .request to the assessor -tore- consider. the personal property tax on that property.
