Page 2. <br />Ray Anderson and Barry McKnight requested permission from the <br />council to buy residential property and the move in a gara6e which <br />would be used to manufacture truck bodies. The council explain- <br />ed that this ar ea was 100% residential and could not be changed <br />to industrial. They also expained that the residents in the area <br />under consideration had voiced disapproval of such approval. <br />After discussion it was decided to try and get timers on the lights <br />for the Christmass Decorations so that they would be on from dusk <br />until 10:OOPM rather than being tied in with the street lights and <br />staying on all night. <br />Bruce Abercrombie was reappointed to the area planning commission. <br />Clerk Meheikomer requested a load of gravel be dumped on.North <br />Shore Drive for allow drivers to take sand to enable them to keep <br />traffic moving east on North Shore Drive up the incline from Rose <br />to Kalmia. <br />Clerk made motion to issue cigarette licenses to the following: <br />Morrie's Superette Lake Elmo 0il Co. <br />Elmo Inn Brockman Motor Sales Inc, <br />Hagberg's Grocery Twin Point Tavern <br />Lake Elmo VFW Post 5725 <br />Motion seconded by Roy Dornfeld. Carried 4-0 <br />Motion by Lloyd Ebne second by Roy Dornfeld to issue a 3.2 "ON" <br />sale license to VFW Post 5725 at the rate of $10.00. <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br />Clerk was instructed to submit a snowplowing conttact to Carl <br />Olinger. and Sons for signature. <br />Due to :tk death of the Health. Officer it was decided to contact <br />Dr. Van Mier to determine if and under what conditions he would <br />take the position. <br />Police and Sa_f�et Committee: Trustee Dennis reported that the fire <br />aepartment has three-way radio which is to be installed in two <br />trucks and at the fire hall. <br />Report of a breakin at the VFW Hall on Dec. 3, 1961. <br />One fire due to an electrical shortk on Lake Elmo Road in Village. <br />Streets: Trustee Ebne reported that the North Shore Drive had been <br />cleaned where the bank on the north side of road had washed in. <br />Request to have the street light on Rose street moved further <br />South around the bend was submitted. Trustee Ebne was to have this <br />carried out at the expense of the village. <br />
