Village of Lake Elmo January 2, 1962 Minutes of Council Meeting. Present: Louis Urtel,Lloyd Ebne, Roy Dornfeld, Randolph Carlson, and Donald Mehsikomer. Meeting called to order at 7:3OPM by Mayor Urtel. Clerk Mehsikomer administered the Oath of Office to the new- ly elected Mayor, Louis Urtel and to the newly elected coun- oilman Randolph Carlson. Mayor Urtel then presided over the meeting. As published in the Gazette and the Construction.Magazine the bids were opened for the well as part of the Village Water System. 1. E.H. Renner and Sons $12*400 Bid bond enclosed with completion by March 15, 1962. 2.Keys Well Drilling Co. 10,895 Bid bond enclosed but asked for 100 days completion. 3.MoCarthey Well Drilling Co. 12,525 Bid bond enclosed with March 15,1962 completion. 4.Bergerson-Casiveel 13,465 Bid bond enclosed with March 15, 1962 completion. 5.L�yne Minnesota Co. 11,395 ( Bid bond enclosed with completion in 90days. 6.Tri-State Drilling 13,860 Bid bond enclosed with March.15, 1962 completion. Village Engineer, Bill Banister, at this point requested a delay in a decision on the bid so that he and his assistant could tabulate the bids and offer a recommendation. Request granted. Clerk reported that the cash on hand in the various accounts as of January 1, 1962 was as follows: Village $4,778.07 Fire Department $69.38 Fire Sinking $2,599.91 Committee reports: Streets Trustee Lloyd Ebne. During and after the snow the streets had been plowed and sanded as. needed. Christmaw Tree lights had been disconnected and would be taken down. Clerk was requested to write Northern States requesting the move of the street light on Rose Street. Recreation: Trustee Roy Dornfeld. The door on the warming house has as yet not been replaced. Norm Wendt has plowed the skating rink and the small rink is now flooded. Mrs. Cheny will supervise the rinks from 6-9 PM at $2./day. Flooding has been done by the fire department. Light to be turned so that the small rink has more light.
