Village of Lake Elmo <br />January 2, 1962 <br />Minutes- Page 2. <br />Raakaxaadx Police and Safety: Report by Constable Al Haseley. <br />Request to have NO PARKING signs installed on Lake Elmo Road <br />from Gorman's to R. Durands. <br />Motion by Clerk Mehsikomer second by Roy Dornfeld to have <br />signs marked NO,PARKING AT ANY TIME installed. Carried 4-0. <br />After discussion on new siren a motion was made by Roy Dorn- <br />feld second by Clerk Mehsikomer to purchase a new 12 volt <br />siren for Constable W. Eder and to have the 6 volt system now <br />assigned to W.. Eder transferred to Constable Haseley. Carried <br />4-0. <br />One fire, a chimney fire at Poppenberger's, was reported this <br />month. <br />Bill Banister requested to review the bids on.a well at this <br />time. Two bids did not comply with the bid requirements on <br />completion dates. One of those in error was the low bidder; <br />a representative was on hand and stated this was an oversight <br />and that his firm would meet the required March 15, deadline. <br />Clerk Mehsikomer introduced and moved the adoption of the <br />following resolution: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR PROJECT NO. <br />1 WATER IMPROVEMENT NO. 1. Whereas pursuant to advertisement <br />for bids for Water Improvement No.1, Project No.1 according to <br />the plans and specificationsthereof on file in the office of t <br />the clerk.of said Village, said bids were received on January <br />2, 1962 at 7:30 PM opened and tabulated according to law and r <br />the following bids were received complying with the advertise <br />ment: Keys $C109895, McCarthy $1295259 Renner & Sons $&12,400 <br />Tri-State $13,8609 Bergerson-Caswell $613,465, and Layne -Minn <br />$11, 395. <br />Whereas it appears that Keys Rikk.Well Drilling Co. of Saint <br />Paul, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder, at the tab- <br />ulated price of 010,895. <br />Now therefore be it resolved by the village council of <br />the Village of Lake Elmo, Minnesota: 1.The Mayor and Clerk <br />are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract <br />with Keys Well Drilling Co. for $g10,895. in the name of the <br />Village of Lake Elmo for Water Improvement No.1, Project #1, <br />according -to the Aland and specifications thereof heretofore <br />approved by the Village Council and on file in the office of <br />the Village Clerk. 2.The Village Clerk is hereby authorized <br />and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits <br />made with their bids except the deposit of the successful <br />bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a <br />} contract has been signed. <br />The motion was seconded by Roy Dornfeld and upon vote being <br />taken theron, the following voted in favor thereof, Roy <br />Dornfeld, Don Mehsikomer, Lloyd Ebne, and Randolph Carlson. <br />and the following voted against None. aadxapmx whereupon. <br />said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
