Minutes of the Special Meeting of the bake Elmo Village Council on April 6, 1968. Council met at 10:30 AM to inspect the Village Streets. Present:Ebne,Goerse,Abercrombie and Mehsikomer, The following notes were made. 1.0onsider sealing Junipar Ave. 2,3rd between Juniper and Kalmia gravel and seal. 3.Juniper Street Sign missing at 3rd and Juniper. 4-Stop sign needs replacing at 6th and Kalmia. 5.Oak Street west edge of road in need of repair. 6.Park Drive Gravel on west half. 7-Need stop sign at 7th and Rose. 8.North Shore Drive and Rose Street sign in need of repair. 9.Patching required on North Shore Drive. 10.11th and 9th strrets need edge work done.. Trustee Ebne was instructed to get Schifsky and get estimates for the proposed work by the next meeting. Clerk advised to determine what amount of money may be available for having all ar any part of this work done this year. Meeting adjourned at 11:30AM. Special meetin ixmK&xX Monday April 8, 1968. Present:Brookmen,Abercrombie,Ebne,Goerss and Mehsikomer. The Vali-Hi Saddle Club and the residents of Juniper Ave were on hand to discuss the possibility of using the Neilsen Property for Sunday Horse Shows. The representative for the saddle club Mrs. Wayne Swan- son presented the matter to the residents of Juniper. She explained that ehye would erect a fence and bleachers. Tha area would be about 140 x 50 ft. Residents each inbis turn voiced their objections to the use of the_ property for this purpose. In general the objection was for the large group and the mess that would result in the area which is essentially their front yard and view from the front of their homes. It was felt that it would be impossible to entertain and live a normal Sunday under thwse conditions. The council considered both side of the question and after about a ten minute discussion the council ruled in favor of the residents and refused the request of the saddle club by a vote of 5/0/. Meeting adjourned at 9:30PM.
