Page 2. <br />Minutes of the Bake Elmo Council Meeting of March 3, 1970 Cont'd. <br />Wayne Read 4202 Valley :Road appeared befor the council regarding a 33' <br />easement in fron of his property.. He was referred to his personal att'y. <br />Ray Anderson 1315 lake Elmo Road requested a building remodeling permit. <br />This matter was referred to William l;undquist, Chairman of the Village <br />Planning Commission for review and consideration. <br />Mike Bahl (Jack Meyers)builder) requested a permit for let 6 on Deer Pond <br />Trail. Permit was approved by the council subject to the receipt of a <br />20ft easement for the installation of drainage culvert in front of property. <br />Motion by Councilman Watson second by Councilman Shervheim that bond for <br />( ) the Clerk and Treasurer be set at $59000 each with premium payable by the <br />Village. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Floyd Shervheim, Councilman', advised that he had reviewed the insur. <br />ance that the village has. Ile recommed,ded that we proceed with what we <br />have and offered a proposal as how to proceed for the fixture. <br />Recommendation is that we appoint a committee of three insurance agents <br />from the village to draw up specs to cover the necessary coverage and <br />these specs would be used in obtaining bids. Matter continued. <br />Motion by Councilman Watson second by Councilman Abercrombie that a special <br />use permit be granted to ABC Midwest Theatres for the operation of the <br />Yali-Hi. Drive-in Theatre subject to the same conditions as the 1969 permit. <br />The fee for such permit being $100,.00. Carried unanimously. <br />The organizational meeting of the new Planning Commission has been set <br />for Monday March 9: 1970 at 7:30PM at the Village Hall. <br />Special meeting of the Village Council set for Monday March 9, 1970 at <br />7:OOPM at the Village Hall.to open bids on the alteration of the Village <br />Maintenance. Building for the clerk's office'.. <br />Special Meeting of the Village Council set for Thursday March 9, 1970 <br />` at 7:30PVI to discuss salaries for Village employees and appointed officials:. <br />The gas burmer ordinance, ca11e for the appointment of a board of examiners <br />to determine the qualifications of those applying for a gas installers <br />license in the Village of lake Elmo., Following committee appointed; <br />Calvin Brookman, John Meuller and Roy Dornfeld subject to acceptance. <br />The council recessed at 10:55PM to allow the Committee considering who <br />was to be appointed Village Engineer a Little time to review their <br />studies and make a recommendation. <br />Meeting reconvened at 11:40PM Recommendation of the Committee for the <br />selection of the Village Engineer was in favor of Bonestroo & Associates. <br />Motion by Councilman Watson second by Councilman Friedrich that Bonestroo <br />& Associates be appointed to represent the Village of bake Elmo in all <br />Engineering matters. Carried unanimously. <br />Clerk instructed to write a letter of thanks to the three unsuccessful <br />engineering firms and thank them for taking the time and interest in <br />makinga presentation and advising of the final decision. <br />Motion by Councilman Watson second by Councilman. Shervheim that resIlution <br />R-70-4 covering xxrtxtx prosecution of certain Ordinance Violations <br />(copy attached) be approved carried unanimously. <br />Motion by CouncilmanShervheim'that Reolution R-70-5 (copy attached) <br />recommending establishment of a Metropolitan Park in the Village of <br />Take Elmo be approved. second by Councilman Abercrombie. Council voted <br />unanimously in favor of said reolution. <br />
