Page 2 <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of the Village of Lake Elmo August 4, 1970 <br />Elmer Richert reminded the council that several items still required <br />action. 1 Roofof pumphouse had a leak and was in need of repair. <br />2.2ainting of Water tower? 3.New signs. 4.Shauldei#s for new roads. <br />5.Ellman addition no water markings and crooked road. <br />Action.takens Building Inspector Ben Friedrich to discuss the pump - <br />house roof with the builder George Siegfried. he, would discuss warranty <br />and repair. :Decision made to hold up) any action on repainting of the <br />wager tower. New signs; see previous notes. Shoulders on the new road <br />` would be done by Village Maintenance crew. <br />Elmer also asked for action on tires for traotor and repair of grader. <br />Jess Mettaz appeared before the council and asked that some action be <br />taken regarding the enforcement of Ordinance 101' covering Oak Wilt and <br />Dutch Elm Disease. IVIr. Mottao was informed that the matter was in the <br />plans and that the council was attempting to find someone who would <br />accept the position of forester who, would police the ordinance. <br />Mr. Mattaa also has had problems with residents, in his area, with sewage <br />and requested that a positive action be taken. Motion by Councilman <br />Watson 2nd by Councilmen Sh:ervheim that we take court action on the <br />complaint and that legal counsel take the necessary steps.*a Carried 5-0, <br />The Insurance Committee made a report to: the council'., David Zinchlag: & <br />Erwin Beutel from the committee and Mr. Caulfield of Minnesota Benefit <br />Association made the presentation. Mr. Caulfield advised -that the Village <br />Employees could come under a group plan through his company. The company <br />Issues insurance only to public employees. The committee was commended <br />for their report and then the council requested that k they take a look <br />at: the overall recommendation and come up with Jc a quat:ation on the cost. <br />of this c:everage. The committee would have the qu.ot.e available for the <br />meeting on August 189 1970, <br />Curt Johnson 2044 Hudson Road St.. Paul., Minnesota 55119 (735--2379) age 25 <br />applied for the position of plumbing inspector. He is a journeyman pipe <br />fitter. He would be available evenings and all day Saturday and all day <br />Sunday if necessary to do, the inspeati.an. Mr.,Johnson gave the names of <br />several places where .he has worked. Mr. Abercrombie was to. contact some <br />of them for their recommendation on Mr. Johnson. <br />Councilman Shervheim introduced the following .reselution.and moved its <br />adoptions RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC SAI1E OF $1229000 STREET IMPROVE. <br />19ENU BONDS OF 1970 BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the <br />Village of hake Elmo, Minnesota, as follows.. <br />1.It is hereby found, determined and declared that this; Village <br />should issue $122,000 Street Improvement Bends of 1970 to defray the <br />expense of street improvements in the Village. <br />( 2.This council shall meet; at the time and place specified in -the form <br />of notice hereinafter contained for the purpose of opening and considering <br />sealed bides for, and awarding the sale of $122,000 Street Improvement <br />Bends of 1970 of said Village. <br />3.The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause not- <br />ice of the time,, place and purpose of said meeting to be published in the <br />official newspaper of the Village and in Commercial West not less than <br />ten days in. advance of date of sale, as provided by law, which notice <br />shall be substantially the following form. <br />
