Minutes of Lake Elmo Village Council November 17, 1970 Pale 2. <br />Tom Torseth, member of -the Planning Commsihiion, asked for Village <br />consideration g for a plan offered by Anton }Friedrich & G.Seigfreid Jr. <br />Plan called for 14 split level dwellings on a six acre tract North of <br />Eleventh Street just Fast of the old Village limits. The units would be <br />under Corporate Control with all residents being members. Council. was <br />asked if they would 'look favorably on such an approach. Motion 'by <br />Councilmen Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie that Council give a <br />general approve to study the matter further such as streets, gas main, <br />percolation tests,etc, and was not to be considered as final approval. <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br />Notice of meetings. Nednedday November 1891970 at 1000AM at the VFW <br />a meeting on the Overall Plan for the Valley Branch Watershed :District. <br />All members who can are encouraged to attend. <br />Thursday November 19,1970 at 7330PIVI at the VFW Hall a meeting of the <br />Transit Commission. Attendance optional.. <br />Bids were received from Haines Tree Service and from Ray Zoller for <br />removal of -trees in the Village of Lake Elmo which come under -the Village <br />jurisdiction. Zeller quoted V 50..00 per tree compared to $165.00 from. <br />Baines.. Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to <br />advise Zoller that he was low bidder and <br />would be awarded any 'tree removal business issued by the Village. Mr. <br />Zeller was to be informed -to include the Fake Elmo Council as additional <br />insured on his policy. Carried 4-0. <br />Dave Cady of Cimmaron requested. approval for privacy fences and door <br />covers. It was pointed out that the private fence question was turned <br />over to the building inspector and it was up to him xx& to vote approval <br />on type of fences and matter of permits. Mr. Cady was advised to take <br />( matter 'up with Mr. Ben Fktedrich. The plans for -the door covers was <br />being worked on by 'the Pemtom designer and Mr. Cady said he would have <br />a plan for Council consideration at the next meeting. <br />Clerk to invite B & E Patrol to next meeting to discuss the activitied <br />to date and see how program is working. <br />Resident of 2670 Shore Drive Demonttevi.11e complained that the drainage <br />facilities in 'the ditch near his property would not handle the water <br />adequately.. Village Engineer agreed to look at -the matter and make a <br />:recommendation. <br />Ray Schneider 2445 Lake Jane :Drive requested that the Village do some- <br />thing regarding the Panasow problem. Engineer and attorney advised. that <br />Mr. Pana.sow had been directed by the court to make certain repairs to <br />alleviate conditions that exist. The engineer felt that efforts were <br />'being made to carry out the order but that the weather was the: control-- <br />ing factor. Given a chance the individual would amke the necessary im- <br />provements. <br />Rich Peterson,Village Forester, submitted copies of his report and went <br />over details briefly and then asked the Council to read it over and then <br />go over it more in detail at the next meeting. Mr. Peterson was set up. <br />on the December 11, 1970 agenda at 9.00PM. <br />Snowmobile Ordinance was discussed briefly but page 3 was missing so <br />clerk advised to distribute copies of page 3 and the ordinance would. <br />! be considered at the December 1, 1970 meeting. <br />
