E.Richert instructed to keep an eye on <br />the water level. <br />Fire Chief Bjorkman reported that the State Fire School was being held this. <br />year at the Pick Nieollet hotel. lie said that he and Possibly one other <br />fireman. would like to attend but felt that since this -took a week:: -that some <br />remuneration other than cost of the school should be permitted.Nlotion by <br />C.Shervheim 2nd by C.Abercrombie that up -to $b500.00 beauthorized for fees <br />and lost time for two individuals to attend this school. Carried 4-0. <br />John Hanner 2575 Shore :Drive North St. Paul and Ken Isaacson 3590 Demont- <br />reville Road presented complaints on their tax statements. They were in <br />formed of the abatement request procedure and were turned over to the <br />Village Assessor. No specific; action required at this time. <br />Ralph. Olsen of Design Integral and MI,. Conrad Adams presented a, plan for <br />the development of property South of Highway 212 and West of an extension <br />of 'Washington County 17. The Council liked the mm idea of such a develpp. <br />ment but hastened to explain that the area for the proposed development <br />is part of natural drainage for high water during the Spring and other <br />moist times during the year and that any alteration of the area may put <br />him in, a vulnerable position should runoff cause :new or larger problems <br />than those encountered. over past years. It was further stated that if -they <br />could produce and engineers certified statement that developing part of <br />the development would definitely not change the normal runoff that the <br />Council would reconsider -the request to proceed. <br />r The ordinance on waste and rubbish pick-up tabled until next meeting. <br />Counsel,Raleigh, presented two contracts for use in the renaming and re - <br />posting of street signs in the Village. One contract called g for the <br />county -to do the entire installation and the second for the county to fur- <br />nish the signs and the Village to do the installation. Motion by C.Aber-, <br />arombie 2nd by C. Friedrich that we approve the contract with the county <br />handling the entire installation. Upon approval with the necessary sig- <br />natures the contract would be turned over -to the committee assigned to <br />looking out for the Village interests who, would in tunn meet with the <br />county surveyor and review the program and present the contract. Carried 4-0. <br />Clerk instructed to invite Committee to next Council meeting Apri16, 1971. <br />Councslman Shervheim reported that he was still attemting 'to get our Dutch <br />Elm -Oak Wilt--For6ster situation resolved. <br />Motion by C.Shervheim 2nd 'by C.Fried.rich that Claims 110 thru 124- be ap <br />roved for payment.
