MINUTES OF THE LAKE ELMO,MINNES'OTA COUNCIL MEETING MAY 180971 <br />Present;:Brookrnan,Friedrich,Watson,Abercrombie,Shervheim4Park,Attorney <br />Raleigh,Engineer Bonestroo & Clerk Mehsikomer (late). <br />Meeting called to order at 7:OOPM and the entire Council toured the Village <br />streets to determine the work necessary in 1971. <br />3rd & Kalmai. Drainage problem- new profile necessary. <br />S'ealcoat all streets in the old Village of Lake Elmo. <br />Rose St. Regravel & grade. <br />Poppy St. North -South direction remove blacktop and replace base & matt. <br />Lake Jane Drive Request county to seal coat this year. <br />7th St. Level and fill holes and seal with oil. <br />Park St.011 street. <br />North Shore Drive Strip out or Level but must be re-examined after <br />drying out. Village engineer will re-examine. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by C.Abercrombie to accept the minutes <br />of the May 4, 1971 meeting as submitted, <br />Correspondence read, discussed and ordered filed. <br />Mayor Brockman indicated that he would attend the meeting called by the <br />Public Service Commission for Tuedday June 29, 1971 at 10:OOAM in the <br />new Washington County Office Bldg.to discuss the crossing of the <br />Chicago & Northwestern Railway & Washington. County 17 in Lake Elmo. <br />Letter from the Village Engineer'm regarding the proposed Hwy 94 was <br />reviewed. Motion by C.Shervheim 2nd by C.Watson that Clerk write to <br />D.R. McFadden and send him a copy of tbte Engineer's report and recom- <br />mendations. Carried unanimously. <br />Petition, signed by 17 residents or land --owners on bake Jane, received <br />asking the Village of Lake Elmo. to vacate certain Village property <br />(see petition for complete description). Motion by 2. Mayor Brockman <br />2nd by 0. Watson that this matter be turned over to the Planning <br />Commission for recommendation before hearing.. Carried unanimously. <br />Letter from Mr. Zinchlag of the Insurance Commission read and discussed <br />with the recommendation that the Clerk write each Village employee and <br />advise him that all injuries on the job must be reported immediately, <br />after proper medication and examination is taken, to the Village Office <br />so that either Mr. Ginchlag or Mr. Beutel can be notified of the injury. <br />Motion by C. Abercrombie 2nd by C.Shervheim to proceed with improvement of <br />Village roads as per the recommendation and review. Carried uni_mously. <br />Robert bang & William Pennings regarding a variance representing Mr. Lang <br />was attirney Ted. Collins. <br />801x200t lot on Demontreville-basement home- for sale i by Lang to <br />Pennings. Basement put in in 1953. Boathouse built 1964 <br />Photos of structure presented 'to Council. Property is listed by <br />Dunn & Stringer. <br />Motion by C.Abercrombie 2nd by C. Watson that the Village Council accept <br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission and deny the variance. <br />Carried Unanimously. Mr. Pennings was directed to try to obtain additional <br />footage in order to approach the minimum frontage of 125t. <br />Clerk advised that $he 3M Club has a building, presently located behind <br />bldg 209 at 3M, which they planned to move to Tartan Park. Blgg size is <br />11, x 111.,,no other specifics known. Council recommended that this matter <br />be turned over to the Planning Commission for disposition. <br />
