Page 2. Minutes Village of Lake Elmo Council meeting May 18, 1971 <br />C.Sh.ervheim offered resolution R-71.-7 (copy on file in village office) <br />relative to DELETING CERTAIN LOCAL ASSESSMENTS. Second by C. Watson A vote <br />being taken shows that all councilmen and the mayor voted aye no nayea.. <br />Motion by O.Abercrombie 2nd by C.Shervheim to issue a license as a sewer <br />installer to Dale Elkin 1986 Ridgewood Ave. White Bear Lake,Mn.55110, <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by O..Shervheim 2nd by C.Abercrombie to approve payment of claims <br />202 thru 2/,g. Carried unanimously. <br />Ordinance #120 Regulating fees and useage of Juke boxes cigarette machines <br />and vending machines and pinball machines was discussed.(Copy an file in <br />clerks office) Motion Vy C.Abercrombie 2nd by O.Watson that the Ordinance <br />be adopted with Fee for cigarette vending machine set at $15.00 and the <br />fee: for pin ball amohines and juke boxes set at $10.00. Fees are annual, <br />Motion carried unsn imouely, <br />Ordinance 121 (copy on file in clerks office) covers the regulations <br />covering beer licenses in the tillage of Lake Elmo. Motion by 0, Shervheim. <br />2nd by C. Watson that Ordinance 121 be adopted with the ON Sale license <br />fee set at $35.00 and the OFFSale at $15.00, Carried unanimously, <br />Motion by 0.Abererombie 2nd by C.Shervheim to approve the application of <br />Cimarron for an ON SALE Beer License as soon as the ordinance has been <br />legally published. Carried 5-0. <br />C.Watson presented Resolution R-71-8 (File copy in Village Office) which <br />authorises the assessor to make certain corrections in. the 1971 assessment <br />of land values only in those plotted areas that are appraised at the pre- <br />sent time. and moved its adoption. Second by C.Abercrombie. Carried 5-0, <br />Mr., Dave Boorman submitted his letter to the Mayor resigning his appoint- <br />ment to the Planning Commission because of his intent to move from the Vil.. <br />Motion. by C.Abercrombie 2nd by O'.Friedrich that the Council reluctantly <br />accept the resignation of Mr. Boorman and that the clerk be instructed to <br />write a gratitude letter to Mr. Boorman. Carried 5-0. <br />Motion by O.Watson 2nd by C.Friedrich that Mr. Fran Fott be appointed to <br />fill the vacancy on the Planning Commifisi..on created by the resignation of <br />Mr. Boorman., Carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Watson was instructed to inform.the Planning Commission that <br />rather than receive recreational property as part of the Lake Jane Hills <br />Development they should accept the cash payment, <br />John Hanner request for abatment of taxes. Motion by C.Watson 2nd by <br />C. Shervheim to establish the total ±axxt#z assessed liability at $17,690. <br />(Land$10,125 Bldg. $7,,565). Carried 5-0. <br />Letter from John Zignago stating that his taxes were too high in relation <br />to other homes in the area. His quoted market value was in line with the: <br />tax statement for 1971. Motion by C.Watson 2nd by C.Abercrombie to deny. <br />request. Village assessor requested to advise the county assessor to relay, <br />the information on the tax structure and how his home was assessed. 5-0. <br />Motion by O'.Abercrombie 2nd by C.
