Edina Housing Task Force <br />DRAFT March 2006 <br />crime, Edina's Police Chief reports that, although <br />the number of police calls is higher in subsidized <br />properties, these calls are not of a criminal nature. <br />Instead, these are primarily related to medical <br />emergencies and "miscellaneous officer calls" (when <br />an officer stops in to talk to residents on a sched- <br />uled or random basis to stay current on events in <br />the complex). <br />Three -Step Action Plan <br />To put the Housing Succession Plan in motion, the <br />Task Force proposes a three step effort: 1) con- <br />tinue the community dialogue about housing and <br />affordable housing's place in Edina and obtain feed- <br />back on the specific housing strategies, 2) facilitate <br />the development of the housing strategies, and 3) <br />recommend a management structure to oversee im- <br />plementation of the strategies, to develop a specific <br />plan for each, and to create and monitor account- <br />ability measures. <br />1. Obtain Feedback. The Task Force believes <br />that results are necessary, and that a report Is not <br />enough.
