Lake Elmo <br />Agenda Section: CONSENT AGENDA <br />No . 4E <br />City Council <br />11-08-2006 <br />Agenda Item: Workers' Compensation for Elected Officials <br />Background Information for November 08.2006: <br />Minnesota Statute 176.001 subd.9, (5) provides that "municipal officers elected or appointed for a regular terns of <br />office" are considered to be "employees" for workers' compensation purposes only if the city has passed as ordinance <br />or resolution to that effect. This would provide coverage for elected officials injured while performing his or her <br />duties. <br />Attached, please find Resolution 2006-117 Worlcers' Compensation for Elected Officials for your consideration. <br />Please note this resolution must be adopted in order to provide the Mayor & Council Worker's Compensation <br />Coverage. <br />Action Items: Adopt Resolution 2006.117 Workers' <br />Person responsible: <br />Compensation Coverage for Elected Officials <br />Tom Bouthilet <br />Attachments: 1.
