CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-117 <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING WORKERS' COMPENSATION <br />COVERAGE FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo obtains its Worker's Compensation coverage <br />from the League of Minnesota Cities; <br />WHEREAS, M.S. 1.76.011, subd. 9, (5) provides "that municipals officers elected <br />or appointed for a regular term of office" are considered to be -'employees" for workers <br />compensation purposes only if the city has passed an ordinance or resolution to that <br />effect; <br />WHEREAS, as part of the renewal process, the City must decide whether or not <br />the Mayor & Council intent is that they will be included as employees for workers <br />compensation purposes only; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, The Mayor and Council Members of <br />the CITY OF LAKE ELMO be covered by the Minnesota Workers' Compensation. <br />ADOPTED, by the Lake Elmo City Council on November 08, 2006. <br />Dean Johnston, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Charles Dillerad, Assistant City Administrator <br />
