�7 The second stage will be the construction of a "day room" in the center stall, improvement of storage space and upgrading the existing office space. The Firefighters have agreed to provide the labor for this project to minimize the costs. There will be expenses for materials, HVAC and some electrical work. Mayor Johnston questioned the need for the second stage improvements. City Administrator Rafferty advised that this building will be usable for another 8-10 years, which warrants at least these minimal improvements to function as a fire station over that time period. Council Member DeLapp said he supported the upgrades, and he appreciated the time and effort the Firefighters were going to provide to completing the improvements. Resident Robert Schumacher, 9155 28`h Street, spoke in favor of the upgrade as the streets are being dug up for the water main project. Resident Jim Petersen, 2751 Jamley Avenue North, agreed that the upgrade should be done now. Delaying the road upgrade would not be cost effective.
