Consider an application for Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG) for <br />gas line connections to eligible Cimarron homeowners; Resolution no. 2007-088 <br />Planner Kelli Matzek reported that the City Council is being asked to consider applying <br />for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the continuation of the Gas <br />Line Replacement Project in the Cimarron neighborhood. The CDBG funding would <br />provide for the replacement of gas lines for homeowners that apply and meet certain <br />income qualifications. The proposed 2007 application would be in effect for funding <br />requests through 2009. Specific figures will be provided in a memo. <br />MOTION: Council Member Johnson moved to approve Resolution no, 2007-088 <br />authorizing the City Administrator to apply for the CDBG funding to continue the Gas <br />Line Replacement Project, Council Member Smith seconded the motion. The motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Consider approving an application for a Minnesota Department of Transportation <br />MnDOT landscaping grant; Resolution no. 2007-089 <br />Planner Kelli Matzek reported that the City Council is being asked to consider Resolution <br />no. 2007-089 authorizing an application to participate in the MnDOT Community <br />Roadside Landscaping Partnership Program and to accept the funding if approved. The <br />proposed project for Spring 2008 would be considered Phase 2 of the State Highway <br />5/0rriage Park Landscaping Project. The proposed project would be a continuation of <br />the work completed in Phase 1 along the north side of State Highway 5 (Directly adjacent <br />to St. John's Church and the residential properties to the north). <br />MOTION: Council Member Johnson moved to approve Resolution no. 2007-089 <br />authorizing the application for the MnD07' Community Roadside Landscaping <br />Partnership Program, authorization to accept the funding if it is received, and <br />authorizing Brenda Anderson as the primary contact person for the application. Council <br />Member DeLapp seconded the motion.
