Resolution no. 2007-087 accepting work <br />Approve City Council meeting schedule for 2008 as presented <br />REGULAR AGENDA: <br />Consider appointing representatives to the Washington CountHighway 36/Lake Elmo <br />Avenue Design Review Committee <br />Susan Hoyt, City Administrator reported the City Council is being asked to appoint three <br />representatives to the Washington County Highway 36/Lake Elmo Avenue Design <br />Review Committee and to approve the selection process for the committee. The <br />committee will be comprised of officials from the City of Lake Elmo and five from the <br />City of Grant with representatives of the county. Mayor Johnston and Council member <br />Johnson will be the City Council members representing Lake Elmo on the committee. <br />The Council approved by consensus the selection process that requires City Council <br />members to vote for three candidates from the candidate pool in a series of ballots until <br />the three positions are selected. <br />The Council approved by unanimous consensus to appoint John Ames, Neil Kreuger, and <br />David Steele, to the Washington County Highway 36 and Lake Elmo Avenue Design <br />Review Committee. <br />Consider an ordinance amendingthe he city code to incorporate meeting procedures from <br />November 5, 2007; Ordinance no.97-201 <br />City Attorney Filla reported the City Council is being asked to approve an ordinance <br />relating to rules of procedures and decorum for City Council Members similar to <br />Robbinsdale, Minnesota. This was a directive from the City Council at its November 5"' <br />meeting. <br />MOTION: Council Member DeLapp moved to approve Ordinance no. 97-201 amending <br />City Council procedures to include Attorney Filla's changes. Council Member Johnson <br />seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Receive report on the proposed 2008 community gathering event <br />Council Member Smith reported the Community Improvement Commission is coming up <br />with ideas for a city festival which would be held the weekend after Labor Day. The <br />announcement of a naming contest for this event will be added to the City website for <br />anyone that may be interested serving on the committee.
