6. MAINTENANCE/PARK/FIRE/BUILDING: <br />A(1). Update on Dust Control for 50°i Street <br />Maintenance Foreman, Dan Olinger, provided information on dust control. 50`h and 15'h Street are problem <br />streets. Linder's Greenhouse has provided dust control on 15'h Street, but the amount of business traffic has <br />been causing a problem. The staff will review the Linder's Greenhouse CUP as to conditions on dust <br />control for 15'h Street. The City has not applied dust control on gravel streets in the past. <br />Dan Olinger reported 50' Street, 15" Street, Kimbro, Kirkwood, Klondike are gravel roads in the City, and <br />he would try to get the best price for all streets that need gravel treatment. Chip seal overlay is better, and <br />he would pick a road as an example and look into starting a dust control program for the City. <br />M/S/P Dunn/Armstrong — to direct the Maintenance Foreman and City Engineer to come back with cost <br />estimates for a double chip seal overlay and a recommendation for application for a dust control program. <br />(Motion passed 5-0). <br />(2). Maintenance Department Update <br />Brush chipping update: 78 residents on Monday, May I ". The chipper was purchased for chipping storm <br />damage and right-of-way brush trimming. It was not supposed to be used for residents to clear -cutting their <br />land. At budget time the Council will look into the possibility of charging a fee through a utility billing <br />program. <br />(3). Lighting Retrofit at Maintenance Bldg <br />Dan Olinger reported the MAC Commission recommended proceeding with Energy masters for retrofit <br />lighting at the maintenance building, as was shown in the energy audit 4 years ago. Dan will have a <br />representative from Energy Masters contact the administrator regarding lighting in the Council chambers. <br />B(1). Tablyn Park Tennis Court Resurfacing <br />The Parks Commission recommended having the Tablyn Park tennis courts resurfaced. The courts will be <br />washed down, the cracks routed out and filled, low patches filled, and a 3 coat color system applied. This <br />re -occurring maintenance item was last done five years ago. $4,000 was budgeted for this work. The low <br />bid is $424.00 over budget <br />Dermco-LaVine Construction $4,424.00 <br />C&H Construction/Surfaces $4,485.00 <br />American Surfaces Corporation $4,750.00 <br />Parks Supervisor Mike Bouthilet recommended contracting with Dermco-LaVine Construction for the <br />resurfacing of Tablyn Park tennis courts. <br />M/S/P Armstrong/DeLapp — to proceed with Dermco-LaVine Construction, the low bidder of $4,424 for <br />Tablyn Park Tennis Courts Resurfacing. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />D. Fire Department: Fire Service Agreement (Mutual Aid) <br />Attorney Filla reviewed the proposed Washington County Fire Chief's Association Fire Service Agreement <br />(Mutual Aid Agreement) and offered three minor changes (two on page 2 and one on page 3). The Council <br />thought a 5-year agreement was a long time. <br />M/S/P Dimn/Siedow — to approve the Washington County Fire Chief s Association Fire Service <br />Agreement, as amended.
