Council member DeLapp pointed out for those that live on the roads that are <br />going to be sealcoated can't use rollerblades on these roads. Paved shoulder <br />with angular crushed rock proves dangerous for kids to fall off their bikes <br />onto the sharp road surface. What other material can be used to be safe for <br />snowplows because this doesn't address it. Council member Dunn <br />suggested this be brought up to the City Engineer to discuss options when it <br />comes back for quotes. <br />M/S/P Dunn/Siedow — to approve 2001 proposed street sealcoating program. <br />(Motion passed 4-0.) <br />8. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: <br />10.CITY COUNCIL REPORTS: <br />Mayor Hunt reported the Principal Land Use Coalition meeting on "What is <br />the Future of our Suburbs?" on March 21. There was a Cluster Housing <br />article in the St. Croix Valley Press. <br />He attended the meeting on bus service with Cimarron residents, Marc <br />Huginen, and Metro Transit. The proposed solution is carpooling or working <br />them into other vanpools. The cost will never be higher than $75. There <br />were 5 people besides staff in attendance. Hunt thought there was a need for <br />reliable bus service for a larger period in the day, not just to and from work. <br />There is a need to revisit bus service route and apply creativity to help. <br />DeLapp suggested the City should announce the opportunity of vanpool <br />service to all areas of the city, such as, Tri-Lakes, Tablyn Park. <br />Council member DeLapp provided the Planner photos of a traffic circle near <br />Austin, Texas. These are all over Boston and you never see a traffic light <br />where new roads are being built. <br />Council member Dunn attended the meeting with Holston and Bachmann, <br />good exchange of information at the capital.
