Is it because we don't
have a building to install a washer? Could look into Bubbles or another
company for cleaning.
MAC/PZ will go through the entire capital equipment list and come back
with a recommendation. They should look at a more staggered approach.
Fire Department Compensation:
Council member Siedow asked what towns of our size spend the same
amount as Lake Elmo for a Fire dept. Administrator Kueffner responded the
pay is more than adequate. She had talked to the Finance Director about
going hourly and keeping track in 15-minute increments. (It would be hard
to keep track of firemen's time for punching in and out.).This could be
looked at in the future based on a Fire Department analysis that had been
completed.
Administrator Kueffner indicated this is not the maximum the City can levy,
but it is what we need to run the City. The Council would like to see the
budget again before the final certification. Figures and December date will
be published in the newsletter.
The following sums for the year payable 2002 are:
General Purpose $1,612,500
Total Levy $11612,500
Council member Dunn asked if our residents would see an increase?
Finance Director Banister reported this budget does not have any increase.
SPECIAL LAKE ELMO COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
