Metropolitan Council facilitate a meeting between the two communities so <br />the two cities can establish dialog and offer assistance to achieve mutually <br />compatible comprehensive plan. The Council commented that it is their <br />desire not to develop in a way compatible with Woodbury. Council member <br />Dunn added that every community should be able to develop the way it <br />wants. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Siedow — to direct staff to have a joint meeting with the City <br />of Woodbury to discuss issues and have a Metropolitan Council rep. <br />facilitate this meeting which will be located at Lake Elmo city hall. (Motion <br />passed 5-0.) <br />B. Washington County's 5-year Capital Improvement Program — 2002/2006 <br />The Council received a copy of the above reference document. <br />Administrator Kueffner noted that there are several projects proposed within <br />the corporate boundaries of Lake Elmo over this 5-year period. <br />Council member Dunn indicated she called Mike Polehna about the lighted <br />ski trail designated in the Lake Elmo Park Reserve, and he was going to look <br />at other park reserves. The Council didn't want to light up the area as in <br />street lights because this was supposed to be a primitive park. <br />Council member Dunn noted the money was received from MN/DOT for <br />signal lights for Hwy 36 and CSAH17, and she requested we make <br />Washington County and MN/Dot put signal lights in as soon as possible. <br />C. Response from Mn/DOT on letter opposing Highway 36 Corridor Study <br />The Council received a response following MN/DOT'S receipt of our letter <br />declining to participate in the TH36 Corridor Study, but it appeared they <br />intend to proceed. Mayor Hunt will call Mayors and Chairs of surrounding <br />communities to get a meeting scheduled regarding the Highway 36 and <br />MN/Dot plan. <br />D. Request for Speed Studies <br />The Council received a copy of the request from Washington County to <br />MN/DOT requesting a number of countywide speed studies.
