Mayor Hunt explained that the Maintenance Advisory Planning Commission <br />advises the City Council on matters regarding equipment and Fire Department <br />issues. <br />Applicant Jennifer Pelletier said her young family was new to the area; grew <br />up in a small community, appreciated rural roots; loves the "downtown" Lake <br />Elmo; sees the area as delicate with potential; does not want to see Lake Elmo <br />turn into a Woodbury. <br />Council Member Armstrong thanked Ms. Pelletier, and stated she was glad a <br />young person sees the vision for Lake Elmo. <br />Applicant Julie Ann Bunn stated although she was originally from an urban <br />area, she had spent 15 years dealing with agriculture and environmental issues; <br />complimented the organizer of the current Comprehensive Plan; sees the <br />challenge of village scale housing and life housing; lives in the old village; is <br />more interested serving on the Planning Commission, but cares about the Old <br />Village area; and is interested in providing safe areas for families to bike and <br />walk. <br />Applicant Dean Johnston said he is accustomed to rural life; has been in <br />corporate/business management for years, has time to devote to the city; <br />interested in serving the Planning Commission or Old Village Special Projects <br />Planning Commission. <br />Mayor Hunt reminded the applicants that they could apply to serve on any <br />Commission, and asked them to verbally state their preference. <br />Ms. Pelletier: Planning Commission and Old Village Special Projects Planning <br />Commission.
