Council members Armstrong and DeLapp stated this position pays less than the cleaning <br />lady at $18/Hour and asked that the Finance Director look into this inconsistency. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Armstrong - to request staff review the wages of the hourly part time staff <br />and bring back to Council. (Motion passed 5-0.) <br />B. Update on Fire Dept. Activities: Chief Malmquist <br />The Fire Chief provided the Council with By -Law changes for the Fire Department. <br />M/S/P Dunn/Siedow — to approve the by-law changes for the Fire Department, as <br />submitted by the Fire Chief. (Motion passed 5-0.) <br />Request for Full Time Employee: <br />The Council wanted to see a justification for the position. Chief Malmquist stated the job <br />description was changed to Fire Chief instead of an assistant. Mayor Hunt explained it <br />had been decided to place money in the budget for two new positions, but there is no <br />decision on what the two positions might be. <br />M/S/P Armstrong/Siedow - to officially pass the Fire Chief position description for <br />review by the Personnel Committee. (Motion passed 5-0.) <br />C. Update on Building Dept. Activities: Jim McNamara <br />Jim McNamara reported there were six new residential permits issued and eight new <br />commercial permits issued for October, 2002 <br />Update on house in Hidden Bay <br />Jim McNamara reported he spoke to the resident's attorney and City Attorney Kevin <br />Shoeberg. The resident and contractor are trying to work out differences. Money was <br />given to contractor, but work was not done by the contractor. The house is not all closed <br />in. The Building Official also reported the first permit for the garage located on <br />Stillwater Blvd. has elapsed, but a new permit has been taken out to finish the project. <br />The exterior of the garage will be finished in the next ten days. <br />Q <br />FA <br />Tom Prew invited the Council on a tour of the well house. He reported the well house <br />has already been vandalized. The repair on the Fire Dept. roofs has been completed. <br />9. PLANNING, LAND USE & ZONING: <br />A. Final Plat and Development Agreement: Bluestein at the Fields of St.Croix <br />Planner Dillerud reported the Council approved the Preliminary Plat of this 14 unit (7 <br />building) townhome project on August 20, 2002. Bob Engstrom, the developer, provided <br />the Final Plat and engineering drawings for approval.
