Minutes of the Lake Elmo Village Council February 20, 1973 pg.1 <br />Meeting called to order at 5105PM by Mayor Brookman.. <br />Present:Brookman ,Abercrombie,Watson,Shervheim,Friesrich,Park & Mehsikomer. <br />Also presentiCounsel Raleigh,PZC member Dorothy Lyons & Building Inspector Muetler. <br />Special guest was Representative Jerry Belisle who,discussed the current session of the <br />state legislature and asked the council's assistance by advising him of our needs and of <br />our opinions on items of public interest. Mr. Harland Crump has been hired as a fulltime <br />employee and will follow thru on any requests in the absence of rep. Belisle. <br />Motion by C. Abercrombie 2nd by C.Watson that clerk be guided by the following breakdown <br />in determining compensation due to the various paid inspectors. Less than $5.00 @ 100%, <br />$5.00 to $500.00 is 2/3 to the inspector and 1/3 to the village. over $500.00 to be <br />negotiated. Final split will be determined after consulting ttith theLMM. Carried 5-0. <br />C.Abererombie and clerk are to get together before the next meeting to determine the <br />sewer rates for the Village as they pertain to users in Section 32. <br />Clerk instructed to send copy of counsel letter regarding the demolition or burning of <br />the building on the Huebner property which is considered to be a fire trap and a health <br />hazard. Permission to destroy building was given by Mr. Huebner. <br />Council advised counsel to direct a letter to Mr. Frank Leier 8900 Demontreville Trail N. <br />advising him that he has 30 days in which to remove the building moved on the property <br />which was not covered by any permit. The building which had no footings is considered a <br />fire hazard. <br />Motion by C.Shervheimn 2nd by C.Abercrombie authorizing expenditure of up to $100.00 for <br />building inspector to join the International Conference of Building Inspectors and to <br />purchase literature that they have available that would be beneficial to the village. <br />Carried 500. <br />Motion by C.Abercromble 2nd by C.Watson that the minutes of the February 6,1973 meeting <br />be approved as submitted. Carried 5-0. <br />Motion by C/Shervheim 2nd by C.Abercrombie to open the village council chambers to the <br />Lake Elmo Jaycees on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month as long as the facilities <br />are not needed for village sponsored activities. Approval also subject to favorable <br />reaction from the insurance committee relative to coverage and liability. Jaycees would <br />not be given a key but would have to arrange for hall before each meeting. Carried 5-0. <br />Clerk instructed to refer letter from Valley Branch Watershed District regarding the <br />level oof water in Goosed Lake to village engineer for comments and recommendations. <br />
