Minutes of the Lake Elmo Village Council Meeting May 1, 1973 Meeting called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Mayor Breekman Present: Brockman, Abercrombie, Watson, Shervheim, and Friedrich Also present: Bldg. Insp. Mueller, Counsel Raleigh and Eng. Bonestroo (7:30 - 8:10 p.m.) Absent: Park and Mehsikomer, Minutes of April 17, 1973 amended as follows: Fourth paragraph from bottom of page 1. Resolution ordering Public improvement 1973 - 2 should be R - 73-11. Sixth paragraph from bottom of page 1 strike words "if legally possible" ab i�ssnequeeCd3trnalr" motion by C. Shervheim, second by C. Watson to approve minutes as ammended. Carried 5 - 0. Letter received from insurance committee advising that current coverage is adequate except for contents of pump house. C. Shervheim suggested that we get recommendation from insurance committee as to amount of coverage needed. Engineer Bonestroo reported he attended meeting on I-94 Minnehaha Ramp for Village. Possibility it won't be installed but staff of Metro Council will review and make a recommendation. Mo4ion:by Co Abercrombie, second by C. Shervheim that based on a recommendation j from village engineer that sewer capacity not be extended to the kressin Plat. at this time. Carried 5 - 0. Clerk instructed to write letter to each of petitioners explaining reason for action taken. Main objection was high cost. Special meeting with Metro Sewer Board to discuss installation of sewer in Lake Elmo. Date, May 17, 1973. Time 2:00 p.m. Location - to be determined. Engineer Bonestroo reported on Battle Creek Drainage project. Meeting scheduled May 4, 1973 which engineer will attend. C. Watson presented Resolution R 73-12 finding the Battle Creek Drainage Report Unacceptable and asked for its approval. Second by C. Shervheim. Carried 5 - 0. Copy of engineers report to be exhibit A attached to Resolution. Motion by Co Abercrombie second by C. Friedrich to extend the deadline for removal of the hobby shop of Frank Leier 60 days. Carried 5 - o. Bldg. Inspector to prepare a writeup for presentation to the PZC at their next meeting. Clerk instructed to add Frank Leier to PZC agenda for May 8, 1973 meeting. Joe Moris and Elmer Richert appeared regarding Lake Jane Lots. Some of the lots are 150 sq. ft. short of one acre minimum. Motion by C. Shervheim second by C. Watson that village retain standard method of measuring lot size from lot edge to present water edge. Carried 5-0. ` Council advised J. Moris and E. Richert that they should process preliminary plat through appropriate channels. That is; Valley Branch Water Shed, PZC and finally to council.
