Minutes of Lake Elmo Village Council Meeting Sept. 4, 1973 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Brookman <br />Present: Brookman, Abercrombie, Watson, Shervheim, Friedrich, Park and Mehsikomer <br />Absent: None <br />Others present: Bldg. Insp. Mueller, Counsel Raliegh, I94 Study member F. Pott and <br />at 9.p.m. Engineer Bonestroo. <br />JOE WEGLEITNER Appeared before coucil as requested <br />20th Centruy Mobile Homes <br />Area around his place of business has been cleaned up and resident <br />trailer moved from premises. Patrolman Neville and Inspector Mueller <br />agreed work was being done. Mr. Wegleitner advised council that <br />prior to his having an occupancy on property he had about a <br />breakin per month. During occupancy no breakins. He will try it <br />as per special use permit. If he encounters new problems council <br />suggested he could make application to amend special use permit <br />to allow a residency trailer. <br />COPIES OF MOTION by C. Shervheim second by C. Watson to make copies of <br />MINUTES: minutes of council meetings available to anyone requesting them at <br />a fee of $1.00 per meeting. Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />DOG PATROL: F. H. Martinson, Woodbury police chief, advised that Mr. James <br />Gartner was planning on setting up an animal control facility in <br />Woodbury. He suggested that possibly the Village of Lake Elmo <br />might use 20 hours per week of Mr. Gartners time. Council does not <br />feel we need a 20 hours per week at this time but would buy 5 hours <br />per week @ $6.00 per hour. MOTION by C. Shervheim, second by C. Watson <br />to authorize clerk to contact Mr. Gartner and determine if he will <br />accept 5 hours per week @ $6.00 per hour for the Village of Lake <br />Elmo. Carried 5 - 0. <br />OAKDALE MOTION by C. Watson second by C. Shervheim that village counsel <br />RE. TRI-LAKES be instructed to write Village of Oakdale regarding the sewage <br />POLLUTION: hookup of Whispering Oaks and determine what current status of <br />action is. Carried 5 - 0. <br />PIERRE'S PIER MOTION by C. Abercrombie second by C. Watson that action of council <br />DON DURAND on August 7, 1973 approving 3.2 "ON SALE" license for Don Durand <br />3.2 ON SALE for Pierre's Pier at 2880 Lake Elmo Avenue North be brought back <br />LICENSE: before the council for reconsideration. <br />Carried 5 - 0. <br />MOTION by C. Shervheim second by C. Watson to poll council regarding <br />issuance of 3.2 "ON SALE" license to Don Durand. Voting against <br />issuance of license were Mayor Brookman, C. Abercrombie, C. Watson <br />and C. Shervheim. <br />Voting in favor: None. <br />Abstaining C. Friedrich <br />Issuance of license refused 4 - 0. <br />
