R - 73 -3
RESOLUTION REQUESTING RE-EVALUATION OF THE GEOMETRIC DESIGN
OF THE PROPOSED INTERCHANGE AT THE INTERSECTION OF MINNEHAHA
AVENUE (NOW LOTH STREET) AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 694
VILLAGE OF LAKE E LMD
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Minnesota has proposed
a plan for an interchange at the intersection of Minnehaha Avenue (now loth
Street) and Trunk Highway 694 (Department of Highway File No. S.P. 8286
(694=393)901); and
WHEREAS, the Village Council has reviewed said plan with its consulting
engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined that the proposed interchange
would be inadequate to handle the traffic which may be anticipated at that
interchange because of the general development expected in the area served
thereby and, in particular, because a Major Diversified Center involving high
density commercial and residential use is to be constructed in the Village of
Lake Elmo one mile to the East of said interchange:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Lake Elmo, by this
Resolution, urgently requests that the Department of Highways of the State of
Minnesota re-evaluate the geometric design of the said proposed interchange as
it relates to the anticipated Major Diversified Center to be built in the
Village of Lake Elmo as aforesaid.
Adopted by the Village Council this 6th day of February, 1973.
d

Calvin J.
Bookman, Mayor
Attest:
Donald Mehsiko6er, Clerk
