R - 73 -3 <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING RE-EVALUATION OF THE GEOMETRIC DESIGN <br />OF THE PROPOSED INTERCHANGE AT THE INTERSECTION OF MINNEHAHA <br />AVENUE (NOW LOTH STREET) AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 694 <br />VILLAGE OF LAKE E LMD <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Minnesota has proposed <br />a plan for an interchange at the intersection of Minnehaha Avenue (now loth <br />Street) and Trunk Highway 694 (Department of Highway File No. S.P. 8286 <br />(694=393)901); and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council has reviewed said plan with its consulting <br />engineer; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined that the proposed interchange <br />would be inadequate to handle the traffic which may be anticipated at that <br />interchange because of the general development expected in the area served <br />thereby and, in particular, because a Major Diversified Center involving high <br />density commercial and residential use is to be constructed in the Village of <br />Lake Elmo one mile to the East of said interchange: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Lake Elmo, by this <br />Resolution, urgently requests that the Department of Highways of the State of <br />Minnesota re-evaluate the geometric design of the said proposed interchange as <br />it relates to the anticipated Major Diversified Center to be built in the <br />Village of Lake Elmo as aforesaid. <br />Adopted by the Village Council this 6th day of February, 1973. <br />d <br />� <br />Calvin J. <br />Bookman, Mayor <br />Attest: <br />Donald Mehsiko6er, Clerk <br />
