R-73-35 RESOLUTION VILLAGE OF LAKE EL.M,O WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA A RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS FOR 694/MINNEHAHA INTERCHANGE At a regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Lake Elmo duly held on the 16th day of October, 1973, the following resolution was offered by C. Watson; seconded by C. Friedrich; to -wit: WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Highways has prepared preliminary plans for the improvement of a part of Trunk Highway Number 394 renumbered as Trunk Highway Number 694 within the corporate limits of the Village of Lake Elmo at Minnehaha Avenue; and WHEREAS, said preliminary plans are on file in the office of the Department of Highways, St. Paul, Minnesota, being marked, labeled, and identified as Layout No. 8C S.P. 8286-03 (694=394) at Minnehaha Avenue; and WHEREAS, copies of said preliminary plans as so marked, labeled, and identified are also on file in the office of the Village Clerk; and WHEREAS, the term "said preliminary plans" as hereinafter used in the body of this resolution shall be deemed and intended to mean, refer to, and to incorporate the preliminary plans as in the fore- going recitals particularly identified and described; and . WHEREAS, the Village Council, on the advice of its Engineer, has heretofore determined that a so-called "full diamond" intersection would better meet the projected needs of the Village than the so- called "folded diamond" intersection contemplated by the said plan; and WHEREAS, it appears that the Commissioner of Highways, in spite of that determination by the Village Council, intends to proceed with the construction of a "folded diamond" interchange and the Village Council is faced with the alternative of approving a folded diamond interchange or causing the abandonment by the Commissioner of Highways of all plans for the improvement of said intersection, the Village Council determines that it would be better to have a folded diamond intersection constructed than to have no improvement at all to the existing intersection. NOW, THEN, BE IT RESOLVED that said preliminary plans for the improvement of Trunk Highway Number 394 renumbered Trunk Highway Number 694 within the limits of the Village of Lake Elmo be and hereby are approved.
