Page 3 <br />PETITION <br />(1) Descriptlan of the project ai-A its purpose (See Figure 1) <br />It is proposed that an outlet be created for Lake Jane in the form of a <br />weir located at the southwest corner of the lake. The weir would be <br />connected to a, watexvay which would be constructed heading west.initially, <br />then turning south passing through a pond called Hedges' Pond, and then <br />through or into a pond. called Crombie Pond. From Crombie Pond the waterway <br />would continue southward passing just east of the small development called <br />Garner Farmettes and then under the new through Highway #212. In this <br />general area the wateTvay would be connected with Eagle Point Creek. In <br />this manner water would be carried from :sake ,.lane to Eagle Point Lake. <br />A more detailed study would be required to determine the exact connection <br />point to the creek and any additional work that might be necessary on Eagle <br />Point Creek itself in order that it would perform as an adequately sized <br />water -course in the event of a large scale storm. <br />The purpose of the waterway described above :could be to accept and carzy <br />away excess water whenever the level_ of Lake Jane rose above the weir which <br />z•:ould be installed on the lake and whose level would have been determined <br />by the ninnssot-a Pc artment of Natural Resources, <br />(2) De carlption of the lands <br />The proposed project would ccrnmence in the southern half of so^ tion 9 of <br />Township 29 North, Range 21 West, It would turn and pass in a southerly <br />direction through the eastern half of section 16 of Township 29 Nontn, Range <br />21 West, It would then turn slightly to the southeast passing through the <br />noa thea_st quarter of section 21 Township 29 North, Range 21 Wect and <br />terminate in the northwest quarter of section 22 of Township 29 North, <br />Range 21 West. <br />The undersigned submit and agree that the above seated description could <br />be revised slightly as a result of a more detailed study by the engineers <br />of the Valley Branch Watershed District. <br />(3) That part of the Valley Branch Watershed District. affected. <br />It is the judgment of the petitioners that the . parr, of the Valley Branch <br />Wa.tershe?. District affected is that part of the district lying wholly <br />within the boundaries of the Village of Lake Elmo, Lake Jane, Eagle Point <br />
