Minutes of Lake Elmo Village Council Feb. 5, 1974 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Eder. <br />Present: Eder, Shervheim, Watson, Pott, Park and Mehsikomer <br />Absent: Abercrombie <br />Page 1 <br />Also Present: Building Insp. Mueller, Counsel Raleigh and PZC member Lyons. <br />Jan. 22, 1974 R. Watson requested that minutes be corrected to show that he submitted <br />Minutes change the name of James Delong as potential member of PZC. This submission <br />and Approval: does not represent a recommendation. <br />Items covering Lindbeck and Chilifone be corrected to show that <br />building inspector check the premises and if he finds they are <br />conducting commercial operation in residential area then the measures <br />authorized in the January 22, 1974 minutes be initiated. <br />Motion by C. Shervheim second by C. Pott to approve January 22, 1974 <br />minutes as amended. Carried 4 - 0. C. Abercrombie <br />absent. <br />Weblos Pack Mayor Eder welcomed the young scouts and their leaders. They were <br />162 Visit: completing their requirement for merit badge in government by <br />attending a local government meeting. <br />Legion St. Mrs. Grace Henning, chairman of the Legion St. Lighting Committee <br />Lighting: reported that all of the residents on Legion had been personally <br />visited and the results of lighting survery resulted in 20 in <br />favor of one light on a 25ft. pole located on the East side of Legion <br />at the point where 2783 and 2769 meet. Underground cable and a <br />175 Watt lamp. Two residents voted for three lights and two for <br />seven lights. <br />Motion by C. Shervheim second by C. Watson to accept report of <br />committee and authorize installation of a single pole and light. <br />Clerk to make arrangements and advise Mrs. Henning when to expect <br />installation. Carried 4 - 0. <br />St. Lighting C. Pott presented a written "Street Lighting Policy" for council <br />Policy: review. Policy dated February 4, 1974. Consensus of council <br />that policy be adopted by village. A copy of policy will be on file <br />in clerks office and used to achnowledge any inquiry on street <br />lighting. <br />Thomas Thomas Lindbeck along with John Brandt, his attorney appeared regarding <br />Lindbeck Special S.U.P. for conducting an auto repair in his garage in an area <br />Use Permit: zoned residential. Mr. Brandt thought a permit could be issued <br />restricting operation to one car at a time, no on sight advertising <br />and a restriction on odors. At this point Mayor advised that <br />council had., at the Nov. 20, 1973 meeting, denied the S.U.P. based <br />on recommendation of PZC. Further that unless new evidence was <br />available as to why matter should be reopened it could not be brought <br />up again for six months. Bldg. Insp. Mueller pointed out that <br />operation was a fire hazard. Mr. Brandt accepted decision of <br />council. <br />
