MINUTES OF THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 18, 1975 pg. 1 <br />Meeting called to order at 5:03 PM by acting Mayor Abercrombie. <br />Present: Eder (5:05), Councilmen Abercrombie, Shervheim (5:03 to 6:32 PM) and <br />Pott and Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Also present: Bldg. Insp. Mueller and Counsel. Raleigh (5:03 to 6:32 PM). <br />Minutes: Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilwoman Lyons that minutes <br />of the March 4, 1975 meeting be approved as submitted. Carried 5-0. <br />Metropolitan Waste Control Commission: Councilman Shervheim Presented Resolution <br />R75-11 endorsing Calvin J. Brookman to fill the vacancy on the Waste <br />Control Commission created by the death of member Vernon Stensing. 2nd <br />by Councilwoman Lyons. Unanimously endorsed by the full council. <br />Mayor will also follow up and get the support from Washington County <br />and surrounding communities. <br />Derrick: Question of land use and zoning continues to be discussed,at different <br />meetings, on the Derrick (Crombie) Property. Letter should be directed <br />to Derrick advising them to make formal application for rezoning so <br />matter can be resolved officially. <br />Building Permits -Farm Property:Motion by C. Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie <br />that we adopt counsel recommendation to require building permits for <br />buildings on farm property to assure that buildings are safe and to <br />esablish a minimum permit fee of $25.00 until the matter is completely <br />resolved. Carried 5-0. <br />Building INspector:John Mueller has completed the Building Inspector Course pre- <br />viously approved by the council. He now is attending a course"Plan <br />Review- Non -Structural". Fee is $28.50 which he would like the council <br />to reimburse him for. <br />Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Shervheim to approve reimbursement of <br />the $28.50 fee. Carried 5-0, <br />Insurance Committee: The question of having a committee made up of insurance agents <br />only was discussed. Councilman Pott stated he felt it would be in the <br />best interest of the city to get broader input by appointing some mem- <br />bers who are interested but not insurance oriented. Clerk instructed to <br />advise the news media that we will be appointing a new committee and <br />anyone interested in serving on this committee should advise the city <br />office. <br />Meeting recessed at 6:32 PM. <br />Meeting reconvened at 7:45 PM. <br />Cimarron SUP:Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie to renew <br />SUP for Cimarron for the balance of 1975. Carried 4-0. Councilman <br />Shervheim absent (excused). Inspection tour required by Ordinance <br />will be scheduled as soon as the weather warms up. <br />Animal Patrol:Motion by Councilwoman Lyons 2nd by Councilman Pott to proceed <br />with investigating possibility of contract with Mr. Connelly and if <br />everything is in order, prepare contract, with counsel assistance. <br />( Carried 4-0. <br />
