MINUTES OF THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY 20, 1975 pg. 2 <br />SUP since they are no longer required. Carried 5-0. <br />Tennis Courts:Clerk advised that tennis court had developed a hole in the center of <br />the court. Engineer to inspect and advise the contractor to repair. <br />The swale installed to divert the water around the court has filled and <br />water overruns the courts. Councilman Shervheim and Counsel Raleigh to pur- <br />sue the proposal with Joe Rogers regarding sale of and blacktopping of park- <br />ing area which may reduce the problem. <br />Consider possibilty of lights for the tennis courts. Park Advisory Board <br />to be consulted. <br />Airport: Mr. Tom Keller advised that he had attended the MAC meeting regarding the <br />Lake Elmo Airport. He stated that Mr. Creighton (spelling ?) of ROHR acted <br />as spokesman. The citizens of the area were assured that Lake Elmo Airport <br />would stay as is and not expand.Any thoughts of upgrading would be 10-15 <br />years awayand would require scheduling of the appropriate hearings. <br />Clerk advised to request a copy of the official minutes of the MAC relative <br />to this meeting. <br />Mayor Eder to prepare letter to MAC relative to the airport operation. <br />Mr. Loescher:Rezoning_ Requested rezoning to permit a multiple dwelling and karate <br />school (6 hrs./week). Advised also that he had a backup plan for a bldg. <br />that did comply with zoning regulations if request denied. <br />Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to accept the <br />recommendation of the PZC and deny rezoning. Counsel to prepare a resolution <br />for review and action at the June 3, 1975 meeting. Carried 5-0. <br />Robert Olson-Chillifone: Mr. Olson complained about dumping and fill at 8668 Demontre- <br />ville Trail. Asked what the council had authorized several years ago and <br />what time limit was placed on request. Clerk to research. <br />Ruben Lausing:Has a SUP for the sale of landscaping materials at 9591 60th St.North. <br />Requests approval to operate on Sunday.. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie that we in- <br />clude operation on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM as part of the SUP. <br />Carried 5-0, <br />Bradley Thyse:Appeared requesting permission to build on Lot 18 Oace's 5th Addition <br />with a further setback than authorized by code. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilwoman Lyons to permit 138' <br />setback from stake line provided written consent is obtained and turned <br />in from the owners of lots 17 & 19 of Oace's 5th Addition. Carried 5-0. <br />Land Use Policy:Counsel to prepare letters (3M & Dayton Hudson) relative to the <br />cost responsibility for land use planning. Letter will go out over the <br />signature of Councilman Abercrombie. <br />Batten-Timber:Forester requested to make a current and periodic checks of area. <br />Reported buring still in process at the site. <br />Claims: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilwoman Lyons to approve payment <br />of claims 75262-75279. Carried 5-0. <br />
