MINUTES OF THE. LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING MAY 6, 1975 pg• 2 <br />S.D.834: Mr. Maurice Jensen appeared on behalf of S.D.834 - Oakland Jr. High School <br />regarding possible hookup to Cimarron Sewage Plant. Engineer explained, <br />letter in file, that the Cimarron system is capable of handling Cimarron, <br />Oakland Jr. High School and that part of Lake Elmo identified as the old <br />village. <br />Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to give tent- <br />ative approval for 834, Pemton and Lake Elmo to work out a contract. Plans <br />will be submitted thru normal permit. Carried 5-0: <br />Mayer Plat:(Mayor Eder turned the,gavel over to Acting Mayor Abercrombie since he had <br />a personal interest in the proceedings. Property involved covers land owned <br />by Berschens, Eder, Mayer & Slinde). <br />Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to approve preliminary <br />platting of existing lots with special applicable conditions: 1.No park <br />donation required because these are all existing lots; 2.Complete topal map <br />not required; 3.Topal map must be supplied for the critical areas which <br />include the Mayer building site and the Mayer drainage site; & 4. Parties <br />involved must furnish clerk with a $1,000.00 bond to guarantee completion <br />of plat within the required time limits. Motion carried 5-0 M.Eder abstained. <br />Acting Mayor Abercrombie returned the gavel back to Mayor Eder. <br />Kraft Circle Drainage:Discussion regarding the letter from the engineer regarding the <br />possible solution to the ponding problem. No final action taken. <br />K-Mart: Councilman Shervheim presented Resolution R75-15 restating the council's <br />position opposing the special access on Cty. 70 west of 694 to the proposed <br />K-Mart Site. He requested council confirmation. Second by Councilman <br />Abercrombie. Carried 4-0. Councilman Pott abstained. <br />Delapidated bldg.:Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott to order <br />removal of delapidated building on Raymond F. Krueger farm in the West 1/2 <br />of the SEcorner of Section 11 under the hazardous building statute. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Batten Timber:Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott authorizing counsel <br />to obtain a restraining order to shut down operation of the Batten Timber <br />operation and ordering the burning of all inventories of diseased trees. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Water Tank:Bids had been.received and opened at 10:00 AM May 6, 1975. Engineer had <br />reviewed the bids and made a tabulation of all five bids. Bids were received <br />from 1.Apex Contracting Inc.; 2.Newman Co. Contractors; 3.Brown Enterprises <br />Inc.; 4.Larson Tank Co.; & 5.Frogner Corp. Quotes varied from a low of <br />$7.020.00 to 9,875.00. Engineer recommended the award to the low bidder. <br />Motion by Councilwoman Lyons 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie to award the <br />contract to low bidder Apex Contracting for $7,020.00 to include base bid <br />plus alternate B. Carried 5-0. <br />Rbvenue Sharing:Clerk advised that he had received notice of amount due to Lake Elmo <br />during the Sixth Entitlement Period (July 1, 1975- June 30,,1976). The amount <br />is $23,125.00. The balance in the Revenue Sharing account brings the total <br />available to approximately $32,000.00. Clerk requested council to consider <br />how this should be budgeted. Revenue Sharing requires that this information <br />be published and acknowledgement returned to their office by June 24, 1975. <br />Recommendations will be discussed at the May 20,1975 meeting. <br />
