MINUTES OF THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 1, 1975 pg< 1 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM by Mayor Eder. <br />Present: Mayor Eder, Councilmen Abercrombie, Shervheim, Pott & Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Also present: Bldg. Insp. Mueller, Counsel Raleigh, Engineer Bonestroo,`Planner Licht <br />and PZC Chairman Johnson. <br />Minutes: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott to approve the <br />minutes of the June 17, 1975 meeting as submitted. Carried 4-0 <br />Councilwoman Lyons tardy. <br />Advance Refunding:Steve Mattson, Juran &.Moody, advised that no bids were received <br />for the June 17, 1975 offering. Mr. Mattson requested permission to try <br />again August 5, 1975. <br />Councilman Abercrombie offered Resolution R75-20 authorizing rebid on <br />the $739,000 Park Bond Advance Refunding and asked council approval. <br />Second by Councilman Shervheim. Carried 4-0. Mayor Eder abstained. <br />Pearl Kuehn Peterson:Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie to <br />approve minor subdivision on Lot A Bordner Garner Farmettes subject to <br />conditions recommended by the PZC at their meeting June 23, 1975. <br />Carried 5-0. The $200 deposit to guarantee completion of the survey <br />has been received in the clerk's office. <br />John -Caputo: Was interested in Outlot B (5 acres) in Derrick's proposed plat. He <br />was considering purchase with the hope of building in August this year. <br />Mr. Caputo was advised that the land was potentially park land and he <br />would, in all probability, not be able to get a permit to build. <br />Planning: Councilman Shervheim, Planner Licht and PZC Chairman Johnson presented <br />detail on their meeting of June 10, 1975. Written summary dated June <br />13, 1975 on file. <br />Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2.nd by Councilman Shervheim to auth- <br />orize counsel, planner and PZC chairman to prepare a proposed procedure, <br />including flow chart to be used in processing development plans.Carried 5-0. <br />Claims: Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie to approve the <br />payment of claims 75340 thru 75382. Carried 5-0. <br />Legion St: Residents on Legion St. appeared and voiced concern over the amount of <br />water in the area East of Legion and South of 30th St. They asked what <br />could be done to releive situation. They were advised that this was <br />part of the overall water problem and it would be considered. <br />Waste Disposition:Mr. Gary Thompson, Thompson Roll -Off Systems, appeared at the re- <br />quest of the .council. He suggested possibility of setting up a permanent <br />box location. He would supply a 20, 30 or 40 yard box which he would re- <br />move on 24 hour notice and replace with an empty box. If pulled twice a <br />month the cost would be $56 for a 20 yard box, $66 for a 30 yard box <br />and $76 for a 40 yard box. Larger boxes are more difficult to load and <br />you don't get a full load in the box. Mr. Thompson advised that he had <br />a 4 yard compactor for sale. He could probably set us up for about <br />$10,000. New unit would be $12-15,000. Council will consider. <br />
