MINUTES OF THE LARE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, DECEMBER 2, 1975--page 1 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:36 p.m. by Mayor Eder. <br />Present: Mayor Eder, Councilman Abercrombie, Shervheim & Pott <br />and Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Also present: Bldg. Insp. Mueller, Counsel Raleigh and Engineers <br />Noyes and Bonestroo. <br />Snowplowing: Bids received from Francis Oehlke and Dan Olinger. <br />Oehlke bid $18.00/hr, for man and John Deere with <br />a loft. plow with a 4 wheel drive Ford as backup. <br />Dan Olinger bid $25.00/hr, for loft, one way plow. <br />$30.00 for a 14f_t, one way play; $30.00 for a 5yd. <br />front end loader and $20.00 for sander on truck. <br />Motion by Councilman Pott 2.nd by Councilman Abercrombie <br />to accept the bid of Francis Oehlke for Lake Elmo <br />auxilliary snowplowing. Councilman Shervheim offered <br />an amendment giving the councilman in charge of streets <br />the option:to utilize the services of the second <br />bidder in case of a severe storm. Further authority <br />to hire a driver to utilize all the city equipment <br />to facilitate plowing. Second to amendment by <br />Councilman Abercrombie. Amendment carried 5-0. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />Bicycle Safety: Quentin Nordeen-Washington County Bicycle Safety <br />Coordinator gave a brief discussion and presented <br />a film on bicycle safety. The sheriff: has endorsed <br />the program. A sample resolution is being prepared <br />and copies will be distributed to each municipality <br />for their consideration. Copies to be distributed <br />by clerk to members of police study committee. <br />Mining permits: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman <br />Pott to approve renewal of permits of J & W and <br />Fred Richert thru Shafer Contracting for 1976 <br />subject to the conditions set forth by the letter <br />of engineer Brad Lemberg dated November 28, 1975. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Schwartz-Martinco: Tom Schwartz was on hand to discuss the letter. <br />from Engineer Bonestroo pointing out deficiencies <br />in the development of plat. Mr. Schwartz will meet <br />with Engineer Brad Lemberg on Saturday, December 12 <br />to review each item to determine what remains to be <br />done. This matter will be on the council agenda <br />December 16, 1975 at 7:45 P.M. <br />Eden Park: Several items have yet to be resolved before plat <br />receives final approval. Engineer advised that <br />owners want to correct some of the deficiencies <br />before the amount of bond is established. <br />
