Minutes of the Lake Elmo City Council Meeting, May 4, 1976. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Eder. <br />Present: Mayor Eder, Councilmen Abercrombie, Shervheim (9:05) and <br />Pott and Councilwoman Lyons (7:55). <br />Also Present: Bldg. Insp. Mueller, Counsel Raleigh and Engineers <br />Bonestroo and Noyes. <br />Minutes: Clerk advised that Resolution R76-3 authorizinq sale <br />of Park Bonds should be R76-14. R76-3 is a resolution <br />authorizing Fiscal Agent, Juran & Moody, to solicit bids <br />for Park Bond advance Refunding. <br />Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilman Pott <br />to approve minutes of April 20, 1976 meeting of the <br />Lake Elmo City Council as amended. Carried 3-0. <br />Councilman Shervheim and Councilwoman Lyons not present. <br />Iverson--9322-45th. St. No.: Present floor level at 929.3. <br />Prospective buyers wanted to add on but were advised by <br />building inspector that this compounds as it will not <br />comply with Shoreland management Ordinance. Building <br />inspector suggested they request a variance. Mouse <br />presently has four bedrooms. A garage and an addition <br />would probabl-y be allowable (page 28-403I Zoning Code). <br />when a specific plan is available it should be presented <br />as a variance first to the pzc and then the councilfor <br />an administrative decision. Bldg. inspector and counsel <br />to review course to be followed. <br />Schaefer: Requested Special Use Permit for reconditioning advertising <br />sign presently located along Hwy. 36. Sian originally <br />installed in 1953. Motion by Mayor Eder 2nd by Council- <br />man Abercrombie to approve SUP for reconditioning sign <br />with no structural chances. Carried 4-0. <br />Councilman Shervheim not present. <br />Beer License for Girls Twin Point Softball Tournament: <br />Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilwoman Lyons to <br />approve issuance of a 3.2 beer license to the Girls Twin <br />Point Softball Team for their tournament July 23, 24 and <br />25th. 197.6. Clerk instructed to inform them that the snow <br />fence and rest room facilities will have to be removed <br />when the tournamentis completed. <br />Carried 4-0. <br />Flood Control Project #2. Present (5/4/76) lake levels <br />Long Lake 938.75 Olson 929.86 (.1' over Wier) <br />Eagle Point 895.88 Lake Jane 923.17 <br />Sunfish 892.78 Lake Elmo 886.04 <br />Pumping started 4/28/76. Intermitant operation. <br />When we started,park was at 893.04,Monday 5/3/76 level <br />was 894.94. To date we have about 75 hours of pumping <br />(approx. 30 acre ft.) estimated rate 220n gals. per <br />minute. Received complaints that noise from pumps were <br />disturbing sleep across Lake Jane. Engineer to arrange <br />for 4th side of sound barrier and pumps will operate on a <br />limited hour basis. <br />
